The Discovery collection came in a pretty box, but I was so disappointed when I tried my first choice from it- the lilac. At first I thought I picked out the wrong one because I was not able to detect anything that smelled even vaguely of real lilacs. After spraying a couple times I caught a tiny hint once but it was really hard to detect. Allowing it to warm on my skin didn’t help. Apparently they created an unrelated fragrance and simply named it lilac. It was an eau de toilette. The peony perfume was better. If I thought the lilac perfume would be better than the eau de toilette, I may try it but I would be afraid it would not smell like lilac. Lilac flowers cannot be improved upon; the goal should be to emulate them.

It was so fun to receive a sampling of these incredible scents! I especially loved the honeysuckle and have ordered more. The box is beautiful and the purchase supports NYBG. What could be better?

How do you pick?They all smell amazing.Honeysuckle is probably my favorite.I love to put one in my pocket ,so halfway through work I can spray a bit on.

Just received this sample collection.. the. lilac and orchid are beautiful. Can't wait to try the rest!! Thank you for replicating lilac (a reminder of "native" lilacs here in New England. Spot on!

I really liked half of them, and might buy the full size. But found two of the others to be too basic smelling, and the rose was to strong for me.
