Castile Soap Bar

This is a great bar of soap. I had an allergic reaction to a weed when I was gardening. I broke out with an itchy rash that lasted for over a week. Once I started using the Castile soap, the rash was gone in 3days.

I am 74 and my skin was looking that old. I remembered my grandmother always bathed with Castile soap and had lovely soft skin. I purchased a bar and it didn't take long for my skin to feel like hers. It's magical.

My shipment was either stolen or delivered to another address, regardless.. the Caswell Massey customer service reassured me they would send another shipment of the best soaps! It arrived today. I thank you for a great experience after the issue above! Again thanks!

Used to get it in long large bar and would cut off one piece at a time
Much easier to be able to get it in individual bars
I like it very much am able to wash my hair as well as my body

Love your products, but please stop adding shea butter to your soaps and lotions. People allergic to latex cannot use this ingredient because it is a relative plant of the rubber tree-the source of latex!
I bought your Castile soap and lotions until the addition of shea. Please help us extra sensitive skin humans.

This soap lathers a lot and I love it. I like that it's unscented and I feel so clean after using it.

Great soap but I am not a big fan of the shape of the bar with boxy rather than smooth edges.

I used the soap once, so far, and it works as the print says.

This soap is just as described on the website. It has a delightfully clean and pure fragrance. I haven’t used it to wash my hair yet, but it is a wonderful body cleanser.

I ordered this soap for my son who has severe eczema and is very sensitive to scents. This soap is a game changer for him, it lathers well and make you feel very clean.

I hadn't used your soap or lotion for along time. It was great to get it back and my skin loves it.

Excellent shower bar. Maintains good consistency between showers without going mushy or brittle.

I lathers well and rinses off well. The only problem was that a friend dropped it, and it cracked open a bit.

Am extremely disappointed that I can no longer the box of bars of Castile soap.

Will likely find an alternative since the soap is now so expensive even when it is on sale.

First, how can soap be exciting? My answer us that this is impossible. However soap can be of such a nature that it exudes quality, foams up easily and cleans better than DIAL (do they even still make it/). In any case, if you want a quality bar in a size that is more than a handful, try Cassey Maxwell or whatever they are called.

Without a doubt, Castile bar soap is an excellent product. It has doubled as my shampoo for years and eliminated a persistent problem with contact dermatitis. Even so, I am ready to explore a replacement product. The price hike from $10 to $16 a bar was hard to take, but the kicker is that more than the cost and design of the bar soap recently changed. Whereas a bar of the old design lasted me for three weeks, I'm lucky to get ten days' use out of a newly designed bar. Do the math on that. The price hike would have been acceptable if the product hadn't been changed to something that melts away so quickly. A new customer wouldn't know any of this, but as a long-time customer, I feel duped. Hence, the loss of one star.

I know you changed the shape of the soap (which I never liked) the edges are too sharp...I love the soap and have been using it for years and have recommended to many, many people...the old bars lasted longer...the new bars seem to fad away too fast...but I will continue to use it. I just love this soap!

I have bought it for years because I like it.

My recent order arrived with the outside box damaged in transit. A tube of Rose Water Hand Cream was the only item damaged, despite the box being crushed and re-taped back together. Camille in customer service was so helpful in getting it replaced. Her responses were prompt, always polite and friendly, and, by the time I got the replacement, I felt we were friends. The Castile soap is for my son who has psoriasis. He finds it soothing for his skin and likes the size of the bar. I love all the products I ordered. I've ordered them in the past and will surely order the again.

I've been using Dr Hunters original Castile Soap...which is what I ordered..but you sent me your replacement version...I returned that Castile soap to you. I was very disappointed to learn that the company will no longer be offering Dr Hunters.
However...the soap image you are showing is Dr Hunters...so are you offering that original version or not.

I purchased this soap because I was looking for a truly scent free product. It did not disappoint. I have tried many different brands of soap before this, and all of them had some type of scent, even if labeled scent free. Great product if you have allergies. This soap will also leave your skin feeling nice and smooth and will not dry it out. Highly recommend.

I’ve grown to prefer unscented soaps. I tried lye soap but was put off by the scent of lard. This soap is pleasantly mild in its scent, & not only lathers well in hard water, but rinses cleanly off.

I have recently been having issues with very itchy skin so I have switched to using castile soap which has made a difference for me.

I am absolutely devastated that the Castile soap I purchased is no longer Dr. Hunter’s formula. I have been using this soap literally 50 years, and it worked perfectly on my skin. My grandmother used Dr. Hunter’s bar soap (the rectangle that you cut into bars), and my daughter has been using this soap for a while too. I don’t know what I am going to use instead to replace it, and am so upset because my skin is is sensitive, and I can’t tolerate fragrance. The new soap has a most definite smell to it, which I don’t like, and made my face feel sticky. I am annoyed that the new packaging states that the recipe's unchanged for over 100 years. I will be sadly returning the 10 bars

This is not the same product it used to be. I should have looked closer but when I searched “Dr Hunter” this Castile soap came up. It is not the same. It has more ingredients and is slightly smaller. It’s not the same soap and Caswell-Massey should be more upfront about this instead of taking me to this soap when I search Dr Hunter, which I have been told by customer service, they no longer manufacture.

Please bring back the Original Dr Hunter's Castile Soap. I have found none like it. This new version is more like less expensive Castile soaps found in department stores and doesn't last long before turning to mush in the shower. I will not pay twice the price for this version as I was happy to pay extra for the original formula simply because it was worth it. A quality soap that could not be found elsewhere. Raise the price if you must, but please, please bring back our beloved Original formula Dr Hunter's Castile Soap! Note: 5 stars is for the original version. This new replacement of the original gets 1/2 star in comparison!
