Presented in our signature form, this floral bath soap contains the same beautifully sweet amber floral fragrance of our Peony Perfume, which contains wild berry top notes and a base of sophisticated amber and green resin. This living floral was captured from a Paeonia lactiflora that blooms late spring along the perennial garden walk at New York Botanical Garden.

Peony Bar Soap Disappointment

Overall, I was disappointed with the scent of the Peony Bar Soap. I was so excited to finally get my favorite flower scent of peony. But this was disappointment in a box. The fragrance did not smell at all of peony or berry. I was hoping this would have had more of a peony forward scent than the amber and green resin base note. In fact, the amber and green resin note was so strong that it smelled like 90% rubbing alcohol solution. It gave me a headache. Maybe Caswell-Massey will produce one that is just peony scent.

I like the size and shape of the bar and the lightly scented peony scent lasts on my skin. I like using bars because they don’t involve plastic bottles.
