Woodgrain Sandalwood Cologne

Best in class. All American cologne for men. I give it 5 stars.

Excellent fragrance. I highly recommend it to the general public.

Great and long lasting.

The fragrance was warm, inviting but not overpowering. It also retained its scent for several hours. I wear it when I’m going to any social gathering. I’ve received compliments on its fragrance.

Was expecting a warm lingering scent and frankly it smells cheap. May try JKKs scent but not sure if the leather sandalwood smells so meh I may not

I just love the Sandalwood fragrance and nearly flipped out when the name was changed to Wood Scents … I refer to my fav fragrance as ode du Gamache in homage to the Three Pines novels and Armand’s favorite fragrance

Product is great. So far, all the products I have ordered from Caswell-Massey have met or exceeded my expectations.

Woodgrain Sandalwood cologne is marvelous. Just a little goes a long way and stays with you all day. I also enjoy the aftershaves, especially Number Six and Jockey Club, favorite scents of historic presidents. Highly recommended.

I truly love this new scent and I've received several compliments. The reason for the 4 out of 5 is the scent seems to fade quicker than some other cologne I've used.

I have enjoyed your product. It takes me back to my childhood when my grandfather used to cut my hair. He was a barber long ago and the dusting powder he used smelled almost identical. It took me back to sitting in the basement while he cut my hair. Outside of the memories I’ve had many people mention how much they like my new cologne, which is the Woodgrain Sandalwood.

Initial application had no indication of a soapy smell. After a drying period the soapy smell dominated. Thanks for the opportunity to try this cologne but I will not buy it again.

It took forever for this order to be processed and shipped.

Wonderful product.

I am a female who has used Sandalwood Woodgrain cologne for more than 40 years, before it became a Unisex item. This is the only cologne I have used. Recently, I received a bottle of this cologne that was broken. I contacted Caswell Massey and was very promptly sent a new bottle. I am very pleased with everything about Caswell Massey.

Just a little of this goes a long way; the formula has a very intense, woody fragrance so beware of using too much because it can be overpowering. I'd rather have the more complex and more subtle sandalwood fragrance of the late-lamented Tricorn, which sadly, this company no longer makes. Please bring it back, there's room enough for both.

Actually the first time I came across your Woodgrain Sandalwood scent was when I bought your shaving cream from the WesternRazor.com site. I was so favorably impressed I looked you up and promptly bought the aftershave. Then I came back and bought the cologne and the soap of the same scent. To get the deal, I added the shaving cream too. Thank you! I know your company was founded in 1752, which is amazing. When did you introduce the Woodgrain Sandalwood scent?

I enjoyed the experience dealing with Caswell Massey. The product (cologne) impressed me. I also enjoyed the familiarity of the company since it is such long history of life in America. I hope to maintain a relationship in the near future.

Even though it’s advertised as a men’s cologne as a woman, I get so many compliments on it from both men and women every time I wear it. Love the smell. It’s not cloyingly sweet like a lot of perfumes. And it last a long time.

Male grooming has to be subtle. The rage of adolescent fragrances don't work for a mature male. I do wish that Tricorn were still being formulated but Woodgrain is a near-perfect replacement.

I have used this fragrance for over a decade and am constantly told what a wonderful scent it is. I hope it never goes away.

Very disappointed!

This was my and many others favorite for decades, but with cheap ingredients and a new formula, CW has diluted this down to Dollar Store quality .

The Woodgrain sandalwood cologne is earthy, woody, astringent, and has a very natural scent that develops and lingers long after application. The essence of sandalwood is boldly forward in this cologne and never has any artificiality to it. This has become one of my favorites. Many people ask me what I'm wearing when I spritz on some of this wonderful cologne.

The best forever

My husband, 65, said it smells like his 80 + year old uncles. My college aged son, says it smells like an antique store. Neither will wear it. Currently using it as a “decoration” in a guest bath. It’s hard to fairly rate this, because the review is entirely based on personal preferences. As a woman who loves fragrance, I do not care for it either. Many more sophisticated and modern scents on the market.
