About Beatrix Jones Farrand

It takes tremendous perseverance, intellect, grace, and strong will to be an original in America; and it is all the more remarkable when someone with such originality leaves an indelible mark on American History.

Beatrix Jones Farrand (1872-1959) is one of these Originals: the most accomplished landscape architect of her time and the only female founder of the American Society of Landscape Architects. She left her mark on designs for College Campuses, City Parks, the Gardens of the White House, and was the original designer of the Rose Garden at the New York Botanical Garden where our Rose perfume was born.

We're proud to be just one of many forces of culture and creativity in America, and so we chose to name this perfume in honor of Beatrix, for her contributions to the beauty of the landscape and the many trails she blazed for those who follow.

About the Beatrix Rose Scent

Beatrix is derived directly from a heritage Rose that you can see and smell at the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden at the New York Botanical Garden.

We captured the scent of many Roses to find the right one for this fragrance.
