Caswell-Massey®

Number Six | 15ml EDP

SKU: 09-69905

$45

A 15ml Discovery Size Spray Bottle of our most iconic fragrance, perfect for travel or for discovering this remarkable scent.

This spectacular fragrance is the longest continuously manufactured fragrance in America, created in 1772 and exclusively produced from the original formulation in Caswell-Massey’s archives. It features a bright opening of sparkling bergamot, rosemary, and neroli which evolve into a warm, enveloping heart of rose, clove, and golden amber. A complex accord of white musk and premium-harvest lavender provides the perfect finish to the scent.

A magnificent Eau de Parfum that exhibits its timeless, classic American roots in the aromatic and citrus notes while the musk and amber bring the scent exuberantly into the present. Crafted with cruelty-free plant-based components and over 90% natural and sustainably produced oils, this is a creation worthy of our ‘Supernatural’ designation.

This edition of Number Six was re-mastered in 2018 by perfumer Laurent Le Guernec, who selected floral and herbal varieties true to the types of oils available when the fragrance was originally created and combined these with newly available molecular captures, distillation, and blending techniques. The result is a creation that brings out the most modern and beautiful characteristics of this scent while retaining its unique, supremely American signature. A favorite of Presidents George Washington and John Quincy Adams, Buffalo Bill Cody, George Gershwin, and countless other iconic wearers across many generations.

Originally formulated in 1772, Number Six is considered America's first fragrance and the third oldest in continuous production. In 1780, America's first president discovered it at our Newport apothecary, becoming a repeat customer and gifting it to several of his friends, including the French aristocrat and American Revolutionary War commander, Marquis de Lafayette. One of the compendiums in the Caswell-Massey archive notes, our forefathers traveled by stagecoach with a flask of Number Six handy.

I absolutely love this scent…and my wife does too! It’s subtle enough to not overpower your nose but enough to let you know it’s there. The way the scent matures is phenomenal as well! Will definitely be buying the big bottle next time!

Great stuff!

The father of our country obviously had very good taste when choosing scents. I've had several compliments on this already and I enjoy the scent while wearing it.

No. VI Is Fabulous!!!

I absolutely love this fragrance! I am using it almost exclusively since I purchased this item about a month ago. The fact that George Washington may have used it is amazing to me as a history person but the fragrance itself and the way it lasts is unbelievable.
