Gold Cap Jockey Club | 88ml Cologne

SKU: 09-49904

$65

The original Jockey Club, first introduced at New York’s Plaza Hotel in 1840, is considered to be America’s first “sport” cologne and quickly became the favored scent from Saratoga to Churchill Downs. A breezy, casual fragrance, it was exceptionally fresh and long-lasting, superbly carrying you through an energetic afternoon playing polo or sailing your yacht. Increasing in popularity with every passing year, future President John F. Kennedy discovered it more than a century after it launched and remained a lifelong fan.

Our 1980’s Gold Cap version was inspired by the classic original, but took a decidedly modern, creative spin with an infusion of more citrus and floral notes, and adding precious woods. A masculine citrus amber blend, it exuberantly opens with an effervescent cocktail of citrus zest and sparkling bergamot. Lush jasmine and aromatic geranium tempered with amber form an evocative heart, as ylang ylang, sandalwood and musk invite a warm, sensual drydown.

Fragrance Family: Citrus Amber
Top Notes: citrus zest, sparkling bergamot
Heart Notes: jasmine, geranium, amber

Base Notes: ylang-ylang, sandalwood, musk

First introduced at New York's Plaza Hotel in 1840, Jockey Club was off to the races, soon becoming the ubiquitous scent from Saratoga to Churchill Downs. Its patrician reputation was affirmed when John F. Kennedy became a dedicated fan more than a century after its launch. Other perfumers have attempted to imitate this iconic scent, but none have succeeded.

Jockey Club-88ml

JC comprises a host of enticing/inviting aromas, suggestive of an overall ambience pointing toward an earthy/tuberal/lightly floral tenor.

A Classic

I have used Jockey Club as my “scent” for most of my life! For me it began in the 1960’s. My father had enjoyed Jockey Club from the 1920’s when he discovered Caswell-Massey in New York until he passed in 1970’s. While the color changed from a light green to the current pale yellow version, the fragrance is the same.

It’s been a staple for years!

I started wearing Jockey Club in 1957 at the age of 17 when I discovered it in a men’s store where I had a Xmas job. Wore the green heritage cologne until you changed over to the gold. cap. Liked that essence as well and now, since you’ve brought back the origina I just ordered both. PS Women love it!!!!
