The Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama set off on his historic voyages of exploration, to search for an ocean trade route to the East where rare essences and spices abounded. When he dropped anchor off Calicut in 1498, he did more than open a port, he revealed India's splendor to the world. One of India's most treasured aromatic trees is the Sandalwood - so valuable that every one is owned and controlled by the government. It is from this rare tree that we have distilled the essence of our Sandalwood collection.
